Southwestern Gynecologic Assembly - 43rd Annual Clinical Meeting
December 4-6, 2008
SGA 2008: "The More Things Change..."
Purpose and Content
Advanced medical technologies in Obstetrics and Gynecology have expanded rapidly. We are also in the midst of global change as previously developing nations namely India and China, are becoming developed and threaten (or promise) to take over a large share of software development, electronic media and communications, and potentially any job which may be accomplished remotely from the initiate origin, e.g., radiological interpretation. We should nurture and develop our interpersonal relationship with our patients, a job which could never be done remotely. We should also realize how fortunate we are to be in a field of medical care delivery, and possibly not be so harsh in our presentation of careers in medicine to our children and youth.
This conference will present core skills in primary care, contemporary evaluations of human papilloma and herpes virus, updates in pelvic floor and hormonal therapy, and touch on a new national cohort study involving children throughout the Dallas area.
